Shattered Glass Hearts

Do you think we could share just one more kiss? I want to see if I can find closure on your lips. And solace in your taste.

How about one more breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I’d be full and happy until we part our ways. But maybe we could grab dessert in one of the hidden gems just off of Soho too?

And prehaps we can lay in my bed one more time and snuggle close to one another. Maybe we could watch one more film and one more series. And share another bottle of spiced rum.

You see, I guess my hope is, if we can add up all the one mores they will equal a lifetime and I’ll never have to get to the very real part where I let you go.

But that’s not true, unfortunately. There may not be any more shots.

When something breaks, if the pieces are large enough, you can fix it with some love and patience. Unfortunately sometimes things don’t just break, they shatter into a million tiny pieces.

And when the light seeps in on that shattered glass, it glitters and dances.

And we can remember how beautiful this was and how beautiful it will always be.

Because it was us and we were incredible. And we could be again. With some sparkle. And patience. And love.
